As of this moment, this group exists only in theory. I’m hoping to find like-minded individuals to come together twice a month in the Greensboro area to meet for discussion about traditional and folkloric witchcraft books and resources, and the personal experiences we have in doing the exercises, practices, rituals and spells outlined in these works. My initial proposed reading list includes easily obtained works by authors such as George Hares, Ian Chambers, Kelden, Roger J. Horne, Michael Howard, Doreen Valiente and Paul Huson. This group is intended to be primarily a study circle, not a formal coven. However, with time, I’m open to the idea of putting what we learn to good use and allowing growth into a more formal circle. Initial meetings would be held in public spaces, such as coffee shops and restaurants with a quieter and more peaceful atmosphere, occurring ideally the first and final Sunday of each month. Participants would be expected to compile a list of at least three (relatively,) easily obtained and readable books relevant to the subject of traditional or folkloric craft to be voted upon for our reading list. Experience and previous knowledge of tradcraft is not a pre-requisite; those who are genuine are welcome, whether miles along the crooked path, or just now learning to stumble. As this group would not be an initiatory coven, neither initiation nor personal “training,” in a traditional sense would be offered. Looking to practical and informative resources for a very particular “strand” of craft, we would be learning, improving and growing together. As such, hierarchy and leadership has no place here. If you’re looking for friends to discuss traditional witchcraft with while sharing good food and good company or simply looking for a magical community without the bounds of a more traditional coven, this may be an opportunity for such. We are an established British Traditional Gardnerian Witchcraft teaching group located in the Raleigh/Wake Forest area. We are 3* Initiates of the same. We are open to seekers SPECIFICALLY interested in the possibility of being initiated into a formal Gardnerian Coven, if mutually desired. Our training is NOT based on a "year and a day" model, as a Seeker's journey progresses differently and in their own time. This is a commitment of time and patience. If you seek training in British Traditional Gardnerian Witchcraft it is important that you thoroughly research this Tradition as all Traditions are different, and not suited to every seeker. We highly recommend reading, Traditional Wicca: A Seeker's Guide by Thorn Mooney and Stewart Farrar's "What Witches Do".

 

We will email you a short application and once completed, we can set up a face to face meeting (in a public venue, of course) . Our application is NOT optional. It is important for us to determine if our teachings and your expectations are one in the same. That said, there are no right or wrong answers, we just want to learn more about you!
