Temenos Melissae is a newly forming coven of the Minoan Sisterhood Tradition based in the North Jersey Area. We will be focusing on Women’s Mysteries, Priesthood training, Lunar and Seasonal rites based on the beliefs and worship of the Goddesses and deities of ancient Crete and Mycenaean Greece in a temple setting.

Since it’s resurgence in 2013, the Minoan Sisterhood has active groves in New York, New Jersey, Texas and Massachusetts. The Minoan Sisterhood is an initiatory path of Traditional Witchcraft founded in 1977 by Minoan mothers Lady Rhea and Lady Miw, along with Eddie Buczynski, in order to give queer women and allies a safe place of expression within the craft as had been previously created by him with the Minoan Brotherhood and the NyWica Tradition.

We are a Coven run high magick Wiccan group that offers teaching and training. We meet monthly (2nd Thursday of each month, 7:30 p.m., Fratelli's Pizza & Coffee (coffee side) 127 Mountainview Boulevard, Wayne, NJ 07470 (just around the bend from Mother's Ale House). Come and join us in a relaxed atmosphere to get to know us. In addition to the monthly meetings, we offer classes in Foundations of Wicca & Elements of Magick (or simply, Wicca 101!), meditation, tarot card reading, astrology, past life regression, herbs and crystals, etc. We hold rituals for each Sabbat (which includes the annual Moonlight Masquerade held at Samhain, a charitable dinner dance/costume party to benefit St. Jude Children's Hospital and get together for group trips and other activities to advance our growth on our spiritual journey, as well as to get to know each other better, thereby making our rituals truly special. The Celtic Traditionalist Gwyddonaid (CTG) is a tradition which stems from the hereditary family lore of Lady Gwen (Gwynne) Thompson (1928-1986) and subsequent research and writings of Edmund M. Buczynski (Lord Gwydion) (1947-1989), founder of the Brooklyn Heights Coven with Lady Vivienne. The Celtic Traditionalist Gwyddonaid is based upon two textual sources. The first source is the Book of Shadows and other teachings of the New York Welsh Traditionalist Gwyddonaid (NYWTG or "Welsh Tradition"), as founded by Lord Gwydion. The second source is the Book of Shadows and other teachings of the Welsh Rite Traditionalist Gwyddonaid (WRTG), as founded by Lord Gwion.
Our coven is about self-transformation through a relationship with nature following the cycles of the Moon and honoring the Goddess and God at the Sabbats. We celebrate our connection to the Gods and nature with teachings of the Celtic Traditional Gwyddonaid and lessons of nature lore. Most of all initiates become part of our coven family. Practicing in an environment of love and trust is very important to us. Our mythological pantheon is derived from Celtic and Welsh folklore.
Songs of the Woode Coven has an active Outer Court which is open to sincere seekers. We do not discriminate based on race, sexual orientation, or gender identity. You must be at least 18 years of age to apply.

We are a well-established coven, having announced our formation in early Fall 1997. In 2000, HOC became a Church with all rights and privileges afforded by the government. Our open circles are open to all respectful seekers. They are “teaching circles,” where we explain the magic we are creating.
Besides open circles, workshops and invitation-only sabbats, coven members meet regularly for social and spiritual reasons. We are working on empowerment, healing, and growth, not on maintaining hierarchies.
