Looking for serious seekers with which to build and organize a devotional order dedicated to the worship of the Lady and Lord. This is a three-degree Initiatory Mystery tradition centered on the Wheel of the Year and the legend of the Earth Goddess and the Dying God. The ultimate goal is to found a physical temple and order of priestesses and priests who live in community with each other and dedicate their efforts to studying the Mysteries and becoming a force of wisdom and love in our world. Founding principles, ideas, and ritual observances are based heavily on the works of Scott Cunningham and Raymond Buckland, Vivianne Crowley, Doreen Viliente, and Raven Grimassi, among others. We will celebrate the Full and Dark Moons as well as the Eight Sabbats as far as is possible. Initiates will be regarded as priestesses and priests in every sense of the word, and should accept living in accordance with certain vows and practices, necessary for the sort of Order I have in mind. The Wiccan Rede, as well as other certain Wiccan texts, are integral to this tradition. Please be 21 and over, as alcohol and nudity are involved. The Gods do not discriminate, and nor shall I. Mystic Star Coven was originally founded in 2005 and practiced together until 2008, when we went on a hiatus due to personal reasons. In late 2014, MSC was re-formed to practice the Feycraft Tradition.
The Feycraft Tradition was formed of two other Traditions in the 1980's and taught to Mystic Star's High Priest in the 1990's. This is the Tradition that MSC practices today. We are not Gardnerian, Druidic, Feri, or Celtic Reconstructionist.
We do not discriminate in our Membership based upon race, social status, financial background, sexual orientation or preference, or gender identity. You should be 21 years of age, however, as alcohol is often involved in rituals and some social gatherings.
We do not hold to a male/female ratio in our Membership, nor do we believe that there must be a male and female Coven Leader for the Coven to function correctly.
We primarily emphasize the direct experience of the non-physical world over the fertility-based ideas of other Traditions and practices.
We use a Three Degree system of Initiation and Elevation. Dedicants are those who are enrolled in Dedicant classes and learning to practice Feycraft. The Rite of the First (or First Degree Initiation) is the most important rite of passage, as it brings the Covener into a deeper connection with the current of power behind Feycraft.
MSC gathers to celebrate the usual 8 Sabbats. Moon rituals (or Esbats) are held on an as-needed basis and reserved solely for spellcraft and magic. If you have other questions about Mystic Star or the Feycraft Tradition, please visit our website.
