WEBSITE: CIRCLE OF THE SPIRAL MOON
Merry meet! )0( Circle of the Spiral Moon is a teaching Wiccan-based coven for Solitary Wiccan women (ages 25 years and older). We are very eclectic and do not follow any particular tradition. Even though we have a coven degree system, it is based upon knowledge, experience, and demonstration of that experience in the Craft. No one has authority over anyone else. We all take turns volunteering to lead each ritual, and we all participate in the rituals. We are not lineaged. We occasionally celebrate the Esbats and almost always celebrate the Sabbats together. We strongly encourage continued Solitary practice for all of our members. In ritual, we honor both the Goddess and the God equally--each member honoring her own archetypes or pantheon.
We meet weekly to study and practice the Craft through "hands-on" teaching and learning; Wicca is a living religion, and we practice it by living it on a daily basis!
Since we are a teaching coven, our coven is mostly for beginners to "intermediates," but we welcome all levels. All newly accepted members to the website will come in as Prospective Members and will be on a trial membership so that we can be sure we are the right fit for one another. Once the 3-month trial membership has passed, the coven will vote to see if the Prospective Member can stay on and become a Seeker. If a Seeker is chosen to Dedicate, she will be expected to commit to a year-and-a-day of study within the coven before being initiated as a First Degree Priestess. No one is required to move beyond First Degree unless she chooses to, but everyone is expected to at least reach First Degree.
We meet IN PERSON every Wednesday evening from 7:30pm until 10:00pm at a private residence. We alternate our meetings between various members' houses; right now, we alternate between Lilburn, Buford/Lawrenceville, and Gainesville! Please look up these locations from your house or work so that you will know if it's close enough to drive each week. We may or may not be accepting new members at the time that you post to join; please email our High Priestess, Syrai Ravenwynd to inquire. If you are interested in being considered to join Circle of the Spiral Moon, please click the "Join Us" button on the website and complete the profile questions. [Please do not post to join if you cannot attend every week as we do require regular attendance.]
Members who do not attend regularly will be deleted from the website and from the coven. The fee for each meetup is $4 per person. This fee is used to cover the monthly website cost and extra activities that we do. (The $4 collected at rituals will go to the hostess rather than to the organizer.) There is never a charge for instruction. You may find out more about us at https://www.meetup.com/CircleoftheSpiralMoon/
Bide the Wiccan Law ye must In perfect love and perfect trust. Eight words the Wiccan Rede fulfill, An ye harm none, do what ye will. Lest in thy self-defense it be, Ever mind the rule of three. Follow this in mind and heart, And Merry ye Meet and Merry ye Part! Blessed Be!
TRADITION OR SPIRITUAL PATH: Progressive Wicca (also pagan friendly)
CONTACT NAME: Meadowhawk Serendipity
Serendipity Spiritual Community follows a Progressive Wiccan tradition and is the center of a large and fairly eclectic community of individuals following similar or tangential paths. We pull from Wicca, Kabbalah, Voudoun, Energy working, and incorporate a large amount of song in our tradition.
We host a variety of events including Open Sabbats, private Esbats, periodic Bardics, twice yearly Sumbles, and more secular events such as gaming days and movie nights.
We are an inclusive group and are specifically LGBTQIAPK+ (if you don't know, we invite you to Google it or simply ask). Treating people with respect and truly honoring of boundaries is mandatory. We do not tolerate bullying, consent violations, or intolerance (irony noted). Proactive communication is expected of everyone.
We are a family friendly group that believes there should also be adult only times and spaces as well. Children are welcome at all events unless stated otherwise, but there are also spaces and times, especially after events that are reserved as adults only.
Most events are managed through Facebook. We have three groups to manage invites: an open event group, a social event group, and a closed invite group. If you would like to be added to any of our invite lists, please message the group, or contact Waterfall Serendipity or Meadowhawk Serendipity on Facebook. All invite groups are private groups to allow people who can't publicly announce the events they are going to to be in the invite list.
