WildWood Coven is a Traditionalist Wiccan coven with a progressive and queer outlook based in northern Rhode Island. Our primary purpose is to serve the Lady and Lord of the Wicca and to help teach others who are called to become their clergy–priest, priestx (nonbinary clergy), or priestess. We observe and celebrate the New and Full Moons as well as the eight Sabbats of the Wheel of the Year. New members must be eighteen or older and begin by participating in discussions about Wicca and attending at least two open Sabbat circles over the course of a year. Laughter and good food are regularly shared at discussions and rituals.

We strive for diversity in our membership in terms of race/ethnicity; age; gender, gender identity, and gender expression; and sexual orientation. We also strive to serve people of all sizes, shapes, disability statuses, and neurotypes. We utilize a five-degree system (neophyte, mediary, and 1st through 3rd degrees).

WildWood Coven was founded by Mahogany and Ivy, who were both trained in SilverWood Coven of the SilverWood Tradition. The SilverWood Tradition hived off of the Blue Star Tradition (but is not part of it).

Mahogany is a queer Black woman and Second-Degree High Priestess whose leadership is rooted in community, justice, and spiritual empowerment. She is dedicated to creating inclusive, trauma-informed spaces where practitioners of all identities feel supported and affirmed in their craft. Her work blends traditional witchcraft with Black diasporic wisdom and modern social-justice values, guiding others toward healing, self-discovery, and collective liberation.

Known for her compassion, integrity, and balanced approach to ritual, Mahogany supports her coven through transformative ceremonies, grounded mentorship, and a deep commitment to ancestral connection. Steady, intuitive, and community-centered, she leads with purpose and an unwavering belief in the power of collective magick.

Ivy is a nonbinary AFAB crone and a First Degree Priestx. They are white, autistic and disabled, and married to a trans lesbian; they believe fiercely in the need for Traditional Wicca to be queered. This will be part of WildWood’s work. Ivy is planning to apply to Cherry Hill Seminary early in 2026 to work on Cherry Hill’s Pagan Community Ministry Certificate.

Ivy loves to study, to teach, and to pass along their knowledge of the Craft to the younger generation--or to age peers or people older than them. Ivy believes in being compassionate, kind, joyous, and above all helpful, as well as in communicating regularly with the deities they serve. If there is any one thing Ivy wants most to do, it is to build a queer Wiccan community, whether it be in person or remotely. They are grateful for the existence of video platforms such as Zoom, where some of WildWood’s classes may be held.

Ivy and Mahogany have been magickally attuned for over a decade, growing together as practitioners, teachers, and community builders. Their partnership is rooted in deep trust, shared intuition, and a mutual devotion to earth-based spirituality. Both are lifelong lovers of animals and the natural world—finding guidance in plant spirits, animal allies, and the rhythms of the land. Together, they lead with harmony, grounding, and purpose, weaving their shared values into every ritual, teaching, and community space they hold.
